At our school in Hanoi, assessment methods are carefully designed to meet both the standards of the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam (MOET) and Ontario’s educational framework, ensuring every learner is prepared for success in both systems:
Vietnamese Curriculum (MOET): Students are assessed through a variety of activities such as group projects, quizzes, research essays, interdisciplinary assignments and periodic tests (4–5 times per year).
Ontario Curriculum: Students take standardized assessments including CAT4 and GL Assessment, providing objective data on their skills in Language, Mathematics, Science and reasoning abilities. These results guide teaching adjustments and ensure students meet international learning standards.
Digital tools: ClassDojo, Unifrog and more tools are used support interactive learning, track student progress and guide career exploration, while digital portfolios alongside Google Scholar and Turnitin help develop research skills and ensure academic integrity.
By the end of Grade 9, students undertake independent assessments aligned with both MOET and Ontario standards to evaluate their readiness for diploma pathway education.
These key milestones prepare them effectively for transition exams, credit requirements and future academic opportunities.
At OIP Secondary, students build key life skills including critical thinking, self-leadership, collaboration and resilience through hands-on projects. Through initiatives such as the “Social Enterprise,” they create eco-friendly business ideas that address real community challenges, fostering creativity and teamwork.
STEAM projects encourage them to innovate, such as designing renewable energy systems. The “ASEAN Youth Summit” invites students to step into leadership roles, collaborating and adapting as they tackle cybersecurity issues, embodying responsible citizenship and global awareness.
Students at our Canadian international middle school continue to grow in a bilingual learning environment, where English is the primary language of instruction for Ontario curriculum subjects and Vietnamese fosters cultural understanding and connection.
